Eino Leino(1878-1926)
Frost quickens, it's a moment of parting.
Lapland paid the toll murdering.
You there and here me:
there my soul, where you.
Farewell your eyes' fox burning!
Farewell figure's white rest!
Die I may, not a captive be.
Heaven my father, the snowdrift my mother.
Lapinkävijä has been translated from the collection Halla(1908)
