Unto Koskela(1908-1934)
Over us beats the breeze laughing
and the intoxicating fragrance of the sea,
and the sand under bare feet
like your skin is rose gold.
Like glittering, wild dreams
so dash the seagulls over the island,
and the sky is like cherries would be blooming
and full of flowers would be someone's bosom.
On the main is the sail of a cutter
like the tapered fin of a predatory fish.
And waves break on the stones of the shore
like the laugh of a little girl ringing.
[Onnellinen Päivä; Purjeet tuulessa(1930).]
