LIKE BLACK AND WHITE -

Like black and white butterflies

over flowers together flutter,

so together mirth and sorrow

cradle my spirit's slumber.

Like together night and day

frolic on the clouds of a summer eve,

so the morning and evening of my happiness

empurple the hems of my day.

Like the maidens of death and life

in the gold of an autumn moon play,

so autumn in the night of my soul

already swift spring's flowers devours.
