Suddenly
a fall of pigeons along the dark side of the house,
windy silk rips,
I stand on the other shore of the world
and see the sky hang

Siivet has been translated from Uuden runon kauneimmat 1(1970, 1. printing 1968), page 259, edited by Hannu Mäkelä(1943-).This anthology itself was selected from an earlier one, edited by Osmo Hormia(1926-83), Uuden runon kauneimmat : valikoima modernia suomalaista lyriikkaa vuosilta 1946-1956(1958).
Exact translation of the end of the poem (ja näen taivaan riippuvan / selällään / kuun ja kuun sakarasta) is impossible, and the attempt to do so here is a rather crude one.
