Iftire the old oarsmen,
don't them, youth, blame,
bring to work your tendons resilient,
grant to oars' handles young strength!
Bring the spring's birches to the bow
and to the frames the sprigs of bird cherries fetch
and to the lap of the hope's haven
the boat so wreathed row!
