already three bearded men stood at the door

no tricks

the lady didn't need anything else

         but the era

was hang up to the chandelier from its feet

and shot in the navel

1918 fragment has been translated from page 244 in the anthology Uuden runon kauneimmat 1(1970, 1. printing 1968), edited by Hannu Mäkelä(1943-).This anthology itself was selected from an earlier one, edited by Osmo Hormia(1926-83), Uuden runon kauneimmat : valikoima modernia suomalaista lyriikkaa vuosilta 1946-1956(1958).
