Kaarlo Sarkia(1902-1945)
Sleep in your cave, forever-young,
blossoms on your brow.
Enclosed are you by the mount of your dreams,
your dreams the cocoon of a butterfly,
you are a master of the ages.
Family after family dies,
you live, Endymion.
In the mount of sleep forever slumber,
never shall be full the count of your days,
the youthfulness of a dream is immortal.
(Endymion, 1929.)
Original rhyme is ABAAB.
