My body has been a prison.

Now I strike it asunder.

The dazzling sky of freedom appears already.

O winds, in you there is the fragrance of dis-

                                                  tant sunrises!

Away, away from the agony of the earth,

away from the sphere of the planets!

The Earth doesn't hear my cry of elation,

I am too far already.
