Crooked in a factory sits
orphan boy doing work.
Already stooped in work frail back,
started to waste poor chest.
That can't witness society,
feelings of pity overwhelm:
A law new is made from that,
young boys from each work forbidden.
In winter frost orphan went
witheredly thin begging,
until in his hunger to the road starved -
from human pity that wretch died!
